Corner Pocket Swing

In case you haven’t heard from our social media, Corner Pocket Swing is moving to a new home!

We have loved dancing and teaching at the Danish Club for the past 11 years and are incredibly grateful to have had such a wonderful place to dance for so long. And don’t worry the Danish Club (and Hamilton Hall) aren’t going anywhere, we will still use them for our monthly socials and larger workshops.

But we’re so excited for this next chapter: our own dedicated studio.

The team has been working hard behind the scenes the last few months to get a space ready for our growing community and we’re every excited to share it with you.

What does having a studio mean?

• More dancing, more often. Having our own studio gives us more flexibility and capacity to add classes, workshops and other dance opportunities. If there’s ever anything you’ve ever wanted to see from Corner Pocket Swing, now is the time to ask!
• A bookable dance space. The studio will be available for hire for practice sessions, private lessons, and other private events. It will give members of our community a suitable dance space to practise their dancing and collaborate with others.
• Spend more time together. We want the studio to feel like a community, somewhere you can arrive early, stay a little later, and catch up with your dance friends rather than just a place you attend for class.
• Try new things. Our own space means we can experiment with new class formats, special events and workshops that might not have been previously possible.

Wow! When can we see it?

From the 8th September 2026 all of our regular weekly classes and monthly workshops will be held in our new studio (unless we tell you otherwise). We will also be hosting a free open day on the 19th of September!

Our monthly Pocket Social will still be held at St Augustine’s Church Hall in Hamilton.

Where is it? How do I get there?

Our new home is at Unit 7, 57 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006, Australia.

It’s in an even more convenient location, closer to public transport and with street parking still available and you can see the handy map below for a reference. It’s located in the Bell Bros building (up the road from Manny’s Music). You enter via the glass doors circled below and head up the stairs on the right as you walk in. Our studio is the first door you pass.
