• Let's take your Balboa to the next level!
Develop your creativity, connection and technique in our morning workshop. Alongside other passionate Balboa dancers and under the guidance of our supportive teachers, Rachel and David, you'll learn and practice new ideas, exercises and moves to level up your dancing.

These workshops are for dancers who feel confident in our current level 2 classes and are ready to explore more nuanced topics and more challenging skills. Our teachers will expect that you are already strong in your fundamentals, and are ready to learn at a faster pace than expected in weekly classes.

  • The Stops routine isn’t just a classic routine, it’s said to be the very first co-ordinated ensemble routine danced at the Savoy Ballroom! Originally choreographed by Frankie Manning for Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers, versions of the Stops routine have been taught, performed and loved for generations. Check out a brief history of the Stops with Laura Glaess and Bobby White here

Magali and Tom will be teaching you a version of the First Stops routine in one morning, no partner required and no pressure to perform! However, for dancers who would be interested, an opportunity for a group performance at the upcoming Pocket Social will be discussed ;)
